So Much History (September 12 Update)
September 12, 2021 - Nostalgia Filled Storage
Got a bit busy... :P
Pardon the silence this week! I could not record any more clips or screenshots, because my game dvr storage was completely filled up lol.
After posting up Mt Grandjay Part 2, I was excited to get back to progressing to the core of Ickjamatew when my Xbox notified me that none of the screenshots I took could be stored. After looking at the amount of media sitting in storage, I took a deep breath and decided to spend as much time as needed to clear it all out. I didn't want to post an empty update and ended up spending my weeknights clearing out and cataloging each screenshot and game clip.
When all was said and done, I was sat with over 2000+ pictures and 200+ game clips spanning six years of gaming...
To be honest, although I wasn't able to post anything new about my journey through No Man's Sky, I'm glad I took the time to clear out my Xbox DVR storage. I think it's something I took for granted. Looking back on all the media, it helped me remember all the fun times I had with family & friends.
Aside all the incredible fun that this medium has to offer, going through pictures and videos helped me remember that I had forged good friendships with fellow Xbox gamers across the globe.
So even though this update doesn't have much to do with No Man's Sky, I wanted to share some of my six year highlights with you. Who knows, maybe these pictures could cause you to sort through your own in-game content and remind you of some fun times as well!
Halo 5 (2015) - Warzone & Arena Play
NBA 2K15 (2015) - Dunking 24/7 and winning the NBA Championship in MyCareer Mode
The Division (2016) & Ghost Recon Wildlands (2017) - Unfortunately I lost most of my screenshots from these two games, but I did play this a lot with cherished friends for over a year!
What I remember the most about these games wasn't their mechanics, but the times I spent with good friends. From Halo, to the Division, and even to Call of Duty, meeting my gamer buddies in real life really solidified for me how awesome video games can be!
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Special Edition (2017) - I played the original back in 2011, but playing this with mods was incredibly addicting! Adding the "Inigo" character, survival mod, and many others easily made this game one of my favorites of all time.
The Elder Scrolls Online (2018) - My first real MMO. Many friendships were made here. ESO's social aspect was thoroughly enjoyable thanks to the good folks at Wicked Good Gaming and COEBA. Too many memories to recount within one post, so I hope these pictures will be enough :)
I also learned about the term "meta" from this game and spent many evenings perfecting my templar tank and dps characters no matter what the "meta" was :P
Destiny 2 (2020) & a screenshot from the original Destiny (can you spot it?) - Grandjay got me back into the the world of Destiny with one word... "bows". Spent many hours and many adventures with Grandjay and the amazing clan of Venimus!
The Deep Stone Crypt raid from the Beyond Light expansion and achieving the gilded "Conqueror" title gave me some of the best social gaming experiences alongside ESO!
I hope you enjoyed that little nostalgia trip with me :) Here's a little sneak peak of what's to come on my journey through the 7th Galaxy - Budullangr
Happy travels and see ya soon! 🦔🚀
I remember that run of MAWL! We nine manned the trial and solo healed. None of us even knew what would happened even you didn't kill the last boss before the clock ran out, we just kept playing. It was absolutely insane. I see so many good memories.
ReplyDeleteThat was easily one of the most fun runs I'd ever been a part of Snips! Thanks to you, Sarge, Livie, Drones and everyone at COEBA for inviting me to join your crew when we all played ESO :D
DeleteIt was an incredible experience looking back on the screenshots and gameclips of the content we ran - from dungeons to veteran trials and everything in between, it was a blast! Thank you!
Dude we've played so many games together! Halo 5, Division 1 & 2, Ghost Recon, Anthem (err... let's forget about this one, haha), PUBG, COD, and I'm probably forgetting a couple more.
ReplyDeleteSo many late nights and great talks we've had. Here's to more late nights and teabaggings!
That's kinda what astounds me when I think about it from time to time :P It was a complete fluke that we met up playing Halo that led to a years-long friendship! If that chance meeting had gone any other way, I shudder to think of all that time spent hanging out that wouldn't have happened. It's kinda surreal xD
DeleteLikewise bro, looking forward to more gaming sessions and chats! Cheers!
