Nosumxuk System
Emura 79/P2 - Tropical Planet
  • As Nosumxuk's star dove into the horizon, the exosuit's warning system blared as two sentinels burst out of the ground and closed in on our position.
  • Using the newly installed scatter blaster weapon on our experimental multi-tool we dusted the two sentinels.
  • Proximity sensors warned that another squad of sentinels would be on top of us soon, but we still hadn't completed our search of the final creatures on the planet.
    • According to the database, both undiscovered fauna were potentially found in the cave systems of the region.

  • With that information, we leaped off of the plateau and splashed into the ocean.
    • It wasn't long before we found an underwater cave system that snaked through the bottom of the island chain we landed on.

  • After a few hours of diving through the serpentine caves, we emerged at the mouth of a cave laden with dripping stalactites and stalagmites.
    • The dreary and dank cavern steeply shot up revealing a near vertical path back to the top of the plateau.

  • Unfortunately, we couldn't locate the final creatures, and we had already spent days on the planet ducking sentinels and hostile fauna.
    • If you find yourself here on Emura, may you find the last two!
  • With a recharged life support system, we gingerly crept our way up the cavern.
    • It wasn't an easy climb - we found ourselves slipping down several times over and our shields took quite a beating as we tumbled in the dark.

  • After what felt like hours shuffling around in the dark, we managed to break through near the summit of the plateau; the star greeting us warmly through the fuzzy peach sky.

  • Overhead, the Pendragon rested atop billowing clouds as we regained our senses and our shaky footing.
    • Having caught our breath, we took a second to take in the sweeping views of Emura's island chains drifting on the vast purple ocean.

  • Having made our way up to the lip of the plateau and after feebly approaching Caliburn, four sentinels exploded out of the ground...
    • ...they were waiting for us.

  • It was time for the Duster Buster!

  • We swiftly dusted off the initial squads of sentinels, when two sentinel quads leapt into the fray - lasers trained on our exosuit power generator.
    • Our shields flickered, but we boosted away from the quads' dancing lasers and unloaded as many rounds of our scatter blaster at the nimble automatons!

  • Our exosuit flashed a message on our HUD, "Warning//Supression Level 4, SEVERE!"
    • Sentinel walkers were inbound.
    • Our shields had barely recovered and we still had time to escape... we didn't care.

  • Time to harvest some walker brains!

  • The walker let loose a devastating red beam - our shields barely managed to dissipate the hissing energy...

  • After trading blast for blast, the towering walker finally fell...

  • With our shields barely recovered, a second sentinel burst onto the battlefield.
    • In turn we summoned our exomech - PUG-33!

  • Another heated exchanged ensued, before we finally toppled the second walker!

  • Running low on reserves and shields, we jumped into the Caliburn and rocketed off the smoldering surface of the plateau.

  • On approach to the Pendragon, we received a notification from the crew:
    • Although we hadn't discovered the final two creatures on Emura, online discovery services had acknowledged our ability to survive on extreme worlds.
    • Milestone achieved: "Everlasting" :D

  • We returned to the Pendragon on shaky wings :P
