From Budullangr's Belly to Kikolgallr's Outskirts
Voyager's Record 29.0097.1211 - Hyperdrive Series-08 through Budullangr
GX007-Budullangr
Nosumxuk System
Holding Orbit over Accrintop Sigma
- We paused for a moment and stared at the galaxy map.
- We started this trek almost a month ago and since then we've completed jumps through seven galaxies spanning 3.8 million light years...
- We have such a long way to go. :P
- Received reports from multiple travelers utilizing Alien Portal structures to quickly traverse the cores of multiple galaxies.
- Much more efficient than what we're attempting, for sure.
- That said, let's see how many light years it takes to traverse all of them!
- With the Pendragon's hyperdrive fully charged, we set off for the core of Budullangr!
*Please don't watch this entire 2+hour video :P unless you're looking for a little sci-fi "ASMR"
Voyager's Record 29.0098.1434 - Budullangr's Core
- We arrived 2,991 light years from the core.
- The journey spanned 715,734 light years and almost consumed the total charge of the warp cells (96%) - our second farthest hyperdrive series!
- That also marked our fastest passage at 289,649 LY/hr for a total of 113 jumps in 2.47 hours.
- the Korvax system dubbed "AtlasAwaitsMeSeeYouSoon" (AAMSYS) was discovered four years ago by Traveler "demianCipher".
- Another intriguing name we wish we knew the story to!
- Not wasting any time, we established terminus usage at the local space station.
Voyager's Record 30.0099.0119 - Portal Recon on Iwak 88/H6
- Trading in a stack of navigation data for alien structure charts from the station vendor, we set out for the ringed planet of Iwak 88/H6.
- Activating one of the charts as we passed through the atmosphere we boosted towards an alien ruin that blinked on our HUD.
- This set of ruins sat adjacent to yet another crashed freighter; we may have to speak to Commander Alvarsho about setting regulations regarding Gek Nip consumption during subsequent hyperdrive series...
- Activating the central pylon of the ruins we uncovered Korvax memory and language fragments.
- Following the waypoint indicated on another alien chart, we hurriedly made our way to another alien monument in hopes of tracking down the planet's portal system.
- Wrapped in a blistering storm, we triggered the monument's interface pylon and discovered the coordinates of the Alien Portal system.
- Conveniently, the portal system was close to a Korvax Archival Outpost - a great place to set up a base!
Voyager's Record 30.0100.1947 - A Chirpy Companion
- Combing the frosty hills for a suitable site for our base we happened across a pinwheeling creature.
- The hoop-shaped Chalkafumae sported multiple segments of shiny carapace; for obvious reasons we decided against taking these fauna for a spin.
- Close by, a stocky feathered biped nimbly wandered the icy hills - we were absolutely going to catch this one!
- Stood an imposing six meters tall, the jolly Crowiorageus (discovered a year ago by Traveler Kember) enthusiastically chomped on the creature pellets we offered it.
- We named our new friend "Picazi"!
- With Picazi's help we easily navigated the snowy hills and found the perfect spot for our core base!
Voyager's Record 30.0101.1157 - Budullangr's Belly
- Resting on the spine of the hill which sat in between the Korvax Archive and the Alien Portal, we constructed our galaxy core base "Budullangr's Belly".
- To any intrepid travelers out there, if you find yourself at this base, we hope you find a new friend like we did in Picazi!
- With base checks complete and spirits high, we summoned the Pendragon and prepared for our next galactic core jump!
- Took the opportunity to capture the brisk skies aboard the Excalibur!
Voyager's Record 30.0102.1231 - GX008-Kikolgallr
- With both the Rhongomyniad and the Pendragon fully charged and stocked, we gave Commander Alvarsho the go ahead to initiate the galactic core jump!
- In keeping with our penchant for landing on frozen worlds, we emerged in the eighth galaxy of Kikolgallr on the permafrost-ed planet of Rogaden XVII.
- Not wasting any time, we boosted into orbit above Rogaden XVII and pulled up the galaxy map to gain our bearings.
- A prosperous three-star Vy'keen system, Iiateme sat 720,274 light years from the core of Kikolgallr in the fuzzy yellow region of the Eawabema Expanse.
- Out of all the galaxies we had landed in, this marked the furthest away from the galactic core that we had started from.
- Faced with our farthest challenge, we established terminus use at Iiateme Station Tau and hurriedly returned to the Pendragon.
- Completed repairs of the Rhongomyniad.
- It seemed as though each galaxy starting point was positioned further and further from the core.
- Wondered if there was another way to aid in covering the distance, then we remembered...
- On multiple galactic databases, travelers who accomplished the feat long before we did spoke in hushed whispers about their encounters with a powerful entity.
- We boarded Caliburn and set off in search of the Atlas...
