No Man's Sky's Amazing Community & Resources
Please NOTE that I have listed more content creators here, but have not added a hyper link to their respective channels yet, because I am still contacting them for their permission to add their channel links onto my blog. If you would like to visit them and check out their amazing work, please do!
Beeblebum
Beeblebum's video on how to construct an activated indium farm was instrumental in helping me create a passive source of in-game income. His chill, concise, step-by-step video also included clean graphics that made it beyond easy to construct the farm! Wanna clear 50 million units in an hour? Part-2 of his updated videos has you covered!
As a result, I have been able to purchase ships, multi-tools, upgrades, and a whole host of other in game items that I did not think would be possible without endlessly grinding mission vendor units. Thanks to his videos I also grew to enjoy the art of building bases in the game.
I cannot recommend his content enough to newer and even advanced players - thanks Beeblebum!
CookingDoor
Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/CookingDoor
I was very fortunate to come across CookingDoor's channel when I did. I had recently learned that freighters were able to travel the farthest distances compared to other starships - I just didn't know how to best upgrade them. CookingDoor has some of the best videos on how to upgrade everything including your multi-tool, exosuit, starship, and freighter. It's easy to say that were it not for his videos, I probably would have given up on the notion of going through all the galaxies in the game!
What defines CookingDoor's work is his dedication to creating complete and thorough how-to videos that make it easier for visual learners like me. In his "How to Fully Upgrade Your Freighter" Video, he clearly defined how, where and why you would place certain tech upgrades. He even showed where the third color swatch applied to on your freighter!
Chock-full of helpful and organized information, CookingDoor has you covered. He also sports one of the best beards I've ever seen any youtuber have!
SurvivalBob
SurvivalBob is literally the Bear Grylls of No Man's Sky! It's like having a veteran survivalist, guiding you through the nuances of the universe.
His walkthrough-style videos are not only helpful to players just starting out, but also to potential players who are looking into what No Man's Sky is like! I enjoyed my first hour of playing, but after stumbling across his "2021 How to Play No Man's Sky Beginner's Guide", I really got to see how far and how fun this game could go. Looking for a chill expert to hang with? Explore the universe with SurvivalBob! Check out his streams too!
Captain Steve
Captain Steve is the preeminent, right, proper, gentleman traveler of the No Man's Sky cavalcade of content creators. He very much reminds me of the incomparable Johnny Depp's portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow, but set in the sci-fi universe of No Man's Sky. And that's very much why I highlight Captain Steve - he exudes the terrific personality that comes with the community of this amazing game.
Whether it's highlighting the wonderful creativity of the community, recapping game news and speculation, or spotlighting fellow creators, Captain Steve shines a friendly and experienced light on the vastness of No Man's Sky! The intro song he uses for his videos is also one of my favorite jams :D
Kash Karoon
Reddit Overview: https://www.reddit.com/user/EdVintage/
Self-professed "No Man's Sky space cowboy, base builder, ship hunter, founder of The Qitanian Empire", Kash Karoon (u/Edvintage) 100% lives up to each title!
Type "Kash Karoon" in the NMSCoordinateExchange subreddit and you'll find literally hundreds upon hundreds of ships that he's cataloged. Odds are great that he'll have what you're looking for! I had a very specific hauler that I was seeking and he had exactly what I was looking for.
About that "space cowboy" title, check out the video of his in-game concert where Kash Karoon jams with fellow players! His byte-beat creations are absolute bangers! With hits such as "Scale", "Space Truckin" & "The Nip Nip Shake", self-respecting travelers would be remiss to not include these audio gems on their star ship playlists.
Many interlopers have attested to the legend of Kash Karoon - I'm glad to be one of them! :D
Kyle Culver
Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/KyleCulver/featured
Frankly, my blog wouldn't have existed without Kyle Culver's contributions to the community! If asked to sum up his catalog of videos in one word, I would choose "wonder". With his eminently skillful use of cinematic camera movement, Kyle imbues each scene with a wondrous sense of awe. Each scene a masterclass in immersing the viewer into the vast universe of No Man's Sky. Each meticulous pan, tilt, dolly - each action Kyle uses beckons the player to explore. And as each scene seamlessly segues into the next, the player is inexorably driven to wonder - what's behind that horizon?
On its own, No Man's Sky easily drives players to explore. Kyle's videos spur that drive onward and endlessly. His exquisitely crafted docuseries Generations delightfully captures the awe-inspiring nature of the Planet Earth series; complete with "David Attenborough-esque" quality narration! Delving several years back through his collection of amazing videos, viewers will find the cinematic short "Next Level", a terrifically fun take on the adventurous nature of the game! Each of his videos is punctuated even further with impeccably timed music!
In an easy-to-follow video guide, Kyle expertly shows how to use No Man's Sky photo mode to help players who are looking to capture their in-game experiences in the most engaging way possible. As someone who is new to the ways of virtual story telling, I learned so much from his work. Few are better in the art than Kyle Culver!
Q Ball Gaming
When I first heard that procuring your own freighter was possible, I dropped everything I was doing in the game to hunt for one. Q Ball Gaming's channel had the exact video I needed for my quest. He made a clear distinction between system and capital freighters - this alone halved the time I spent searching for the exact capital ship I was hunting for.
And that's Q Ball's specialty - he cuts right to the information you need to successfully attain the object you're looking for! He has playlist upon playlist of helpful videos covering everything from starships & freighters to multi-tools & upgrading and everything in between. New to the game and need solid source for No Man's Sky info? Check out Q Ball Gaming!
Whisky Barrel Gaming
Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6VaKq1Gqz_rlVzQk0aTYfQ
I would not have seriously thought to traverse the galaxies of NMS were it not for Whisky Barrel's pivotal video on Galaxy Map Mastery - an excellent guide where he methodically broke down how to navigate and read the galaxy map, including what to expect when traversing the core of any galaxy.
Thanks to his clear breakdown of how to read the galaxy map filters, I was able to play as a merchant for awhile in my early hours of the game; enjoying a bit of role play!
Sporting a wry and friendly sense of humor, as well as a chill voice, Whisky Barrel Gaming's personality easily conveys a "you can do it" attitude to newer players of No Man's Sky.
Akin to a mentor figure, Whisky Barrel Gaming features numerous videos that are beginner friendly, including a space camp series, walkthroughs, and how-to-guides. Check out his new video on essential recipes! Everyone needs herox these days amirite?
Xaine's World
Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/XainesWorld/featured
I was looking up how to create activated indium farms when I encountered Xaine's World's work. Then I clicked on his stasis device guide...
Hands down, Xaine has created the most comprehensive guide on how to craft in No Man's Sky that I have seen - akin to a magnum opus! He manages to pair a "made-for-podcast" voice with impeccably created infographics to guide players in how to craft one of the game's greatest income generating assets. Included in the description of the video are chapters for each of the wonderfully informative sections!
Regardless if you're seeking to actually create a stasis device, the video provides information that is vastly relevant to any player's playthrough. The base extension section of his video has provided me with knowledge of how to effectively layout my bases. He's also created a very accommodating written version of his mega-guide.
P.S. That's only one video - his channel covers NMS news, live streams, tips-and-tricks guides, and so much more. Thanks Xaine!
